Description
Schiedam is world famous for its jenever. The silhouette of the city is still defined by the gigantic mills that ground grain for the countless distilleries, of which there were 392 at their peak in 1880. Schiedam still has five distilleries, but the days when there was a blanket of soot over the city are over. Schiedam is now a remarkably green city. The route goes through city parks, along allotments and through the peat meadows of Midden-Delfland.
