Regenbogen Ferienanlage Prerow

The gigantic site (35 hectares) of camping Prerow (in full: Regenbogen Ferienanlage Prerow) is located in a fairytale-like beauty on the Baltic Sea, at the extreme northern tip of the northern German region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is an eco-camping with a naturist area. Here you will find nothing but sea, dunes and beach (with beautiful, almost white sand) as far as the horizon reaches. Behind the campsite is a gigantic forest. So you are really one with nature here. You come to spend your holiday in Prerow to experience the space, the silence and nature. But you can also be sporty in all kinds of ways, with sea swimming, boating, long walks along the sea or cycling in the unspoilt environment. And after a long day you can visit one of the excellent restaurants on Prerow.

The campsite is located near the town of Prerow (2 km on foot, 4 km by car). Zingst is also not far away (16 km). The quickest route from Rostock is via the B105 and then the L21 (65 km): you pass through Prerow and there the way to the campsite is well signed.

Welcome to the sand

You will be warmly welcomed by professional receptionists. They will show you around this huge site at the counter. The pitches are mainly in the sand, along paved or unpaved roads and roads, but often without a road nearby. If necessary, helpful employees will help you to reach your spot. The opening hours are special, you can even spend Christmas here. Check all dates on their website before departure.

Camping behind the dunes

The site is large, you have to love this. You can feel lost here if you like uncluttered and cosy. The (guarded) site has 850 touring pitches (12-100 m2), 100 camper pitches and 43 rental cottages. The touring pitches are largely in the sand (with or without dunes with marram grass) but there are also paved areas with grass. Camping behind the low row of dunes with a private beach in front of the door is a luxury experience, also because it is quiet day and night. Only downside: there are quite a few mosquitoes. It is therefore a good idea to bring mosquito repellent.

An active holiday

The Baltic Sea offers many water sports options. Your fellow campers are therefore often active people. At Prerow it is allowed to snorkel, windsurf, kayak, canoe and sail. You can rent surfboards, canoes, kayaks and sailboats on site. Cycling in the vicinity is sometimes a bit difficult because of the poor cycle paths (uneven concrete slabs). Therefore, inquire at the reception about the good cycling routes. You can also rent two-wheelers here. Children will have a great time at Prerow, not least because of the playground, sports field and entertainment programme.

Good food and drink

At Prerow you will not be short of food and drink. There are several restaurants, with a wide choice on the menu. You can also have an extensive breakfast there. There is a snack bar and pizzeria. Pick-up of meals is possible. Do you like entertainment in the evening? Then go for a drink and a snack in the cozy bar.

The camping shop has a limited range (although fresh bread is available daily), but you will find plenty of shops in the nearby towns.

Sanitary

The sanitary facilities are adequate, neat and clean. Family showers and areas for disabled visitors are available. You can also rent private sanitary facilities.

German Riviera

Going to the sea is a real must here. Take endless walks on the beach, go for a stroll or sunbathe. Also nice: take a trip on the still water. When you return to the campsite, you can enjoy a meal in one of the excellent restaurants or a drink in the bar. In short: experience everything about this 'German Riviera'!
