Campingplatz Bederkesa

Visit the website

Campingplatz Bederkesa is a large, well-maintained site northeast of Bremerhaven and southeast of Cuxhaven. An ideal overnight stay if you are on your way to Scandinavia or if you want to discover the forests, lakes and swamps in the state of Niedersachsen. Cyclists and water sports enthusiasts are also in the right place here. The campsite is only one kilometer from the twelfth-century village of the same name, but you will not experience any inconvenience at the campsite. In the village you will find various shops and supermarkets and every first Sunday of the month there is a market with a changing theme. The campsite is located in a wooded area, next to a canal and a beautiful lake.

From Bremen take the A27 and follow the signs 'Bad Bederska'. You drive through the village and from there there are clear signs to the campsite.

Tips from the receptionist

Even before the barrier you will find the reception on your right. The enthusiastic employee, who has been welcoming the camping guests for years, knows a lot about the area. She is happy to provide you with tips to get to know the region, which has not yet been discovered by the masses. In the morning you can also get fresh bread rolls here. There is room in the car park for campers who arrive late.

Campsite by the water

On the way to your camping spot, you notice that the campsite doesn't seem that big at first glance, but it is. There are deciduous trees in various places and the camping pitches are spacious and numbered. Because of the trees and bushes you can easily create a private spot or a spot in the shade. There are also large fields, where you can make contact with your fellow campers. Or get a camping pitch with a lake view. From here it is a little further to walk to the toilet block, but you get a beautiful view in return. There is a general barbecue area on the tent camping field.

in transit

Many Dutch people who are on their way to Scandinavia come to this campsite. Germans often camp here as well. In the low season, many older motor home owners can be found.

For water sports enthusiasts

The back of Campingplatz Bederkesa is on the Bederkesaer Lake. You can get there very easily via the main path of the campsite. There are many water sports options at the lake, such as pedal boats and boating, but also fishing. In addition, water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves on the 61.5 kilometer long Elbe-Weser-Schifffahrtskanal.

In high season, the animation team is ready to entertain children up to the age of twelve. On the edge of the campsite is an adventure playground, including a large outdoor chess game and Bolzspiel (a type of football). Explore the area? Rent a bike at the campsite and discover the variety of forests, lakes and swamps via the extensive network of cycle paths (430 kilometers). Also fun with the whole family: exploring the Ahlen Swamp with the Moorbahn, a small train that runs through the region.

A relaxed ode to the swamp

A few minutes from the campsite, Moor-Therme 'Aqua Vitalis', a wellness center where you can discover the beneficial powers of the marsh. Here you can enjoy a massage or a sauna. The smallest campers have fun in the water in the adventure pool. Are you a guest at Campingplatz Bederkesa? Then you get a discount on a visit to Aqua Vitalis.

Culinary enjoyment

Opposite the reception is the restaurant 'Das Landhaus', which is open from March to December. Here you can have lunch and dinner in a modern ambiance, both inside and on the terrace. The regional dishes on the menu change seasonally. You can also visit the bar for a cocktail, a beer or a glass of wine.

The luxury of a private bathroom

The sanitary facilities are neat and clean, but less accessible for the disabled. You can also book a private bathroom at this campsite. A kitchen is available in one of the two sanitary buildings.
