Camping Dresden-Mockritz

Visit the website

Camping Dresden-Mockritz is located in a suburb of Dresden. Although the campsite is in the city, it still looks very green and there are many tall, old trees. The site looks a bit untidy, but makes a spacious impression. In the high season the campsite is often busy. Especially towards evening, many new campers arrive who are on their way to the Czech Republic, for example.

The campsite is not far from the A17. The route partly leads through industrial areas, but is very easy to drive on, even for larger motorhomes and caravans. From the campsite, the route to the center of Dresden is fairly easy (the bus stops in front of the entrance to the campsite), making it an excellent base for a visit to the city.

Camping next to a natural swimming pond

Because the terrain is not completely flat, you have to be a little careful where you put your camper, caravan or tent. The front area has many old, tall trees. The rear site is somewhat smaller and the pitches there are separated by hedges and some shrubbery. Next to the campsite is a small natural swimming pond with a large, green lawn with play facilities for the children. There is also a special field for tents. This area is partly adjacent to the swimming pond and is separated by a fence. You can also rent a mobile home or one of the seven bungalows with a veranda.

Shop and restaurant

The shop at the reception sells the necessary things for the guests, but Dresden has plenty of supermarkets (also in the Mockritz district). The restaurant is located in the same building as the reception. You can eat outside on a terrace with modern chairs and tables. Inside it looks cozy and modern with a large beautiful multi-burner in the middle. The restaurant has a very good kitchen with a wide menu (mainly typical German dishes) at reasonable prices.

Renewed sanitary facilities

The sanitary facilities have recently been almost completely renovated; only the outer walls have survived. A baby room has been added and there is separate children's sanitary facilities. Families with children receive a key to use this.

Versatile Dresden

Despite all the horrors the city has experienced throughout its history, the center of Dresden is very impressive. Highest on everyone's list is the baroque Frauenkirche. This is not the only monument in the city, just look around the center. The Altmarkt is the most important and bustling square in the city. Every year the Christmas market 'Striezelmarkt' is held here. Behind this square you will find another large shopping center.
