Camping Gieselwerder

Visit the website

Camping Gieselwerder is located in Overweser-Gieselwerder, directly on the river Weser. The campsite is surrounded by untouched nature. Gieselwerder is located between Bad Karlshafen and Hann. Munden. You arrive at a very elongated campsite surrounded by a large outdoor swimming pool. Every place offers a beautiful view of the river.

The site is easiest to reach from the Netherlands by following the A30 towards Hanover from Osnabruck and taking the A2 from Bad Oeynhausen. When you leave this highway via exit 35, you go via the B83 past Hameln and Hoxter to Bad Karlshafen. Then take the B80 to Gieselwerder and turn right before the River Weser.

For the whole family

The campsite presents itself as a place to stay for the whole family where everyone is welcome. In addition, the focus is on cyclists and motorcyclists who can always find a nice spot with their tent. The campsite measures a total of 25,000 m2 and each pitch is between 80 and 100 m2.

Campsite guests can use the heated outdoor pool for free. In case of bad weather, there is an indoor swimming pool nearby, which you can also use for free. Everything is organized at the campsite, such as campfires, barbecues, performances, buffets and line dancing. For the smallest children there are all kinds of craft activities and pedal car races. Also fun: building sandcastles. This is possible in a playground with fun play equipment and a sandbox.

Accommodation

Of course you can go to the campsite with your own caravan, camper or tent. You can rent not only mobile homes (with space for two adults and two children), but also large four-person tipis. The latter are mainly intended for groups. The tipi village has a total of 28 beds. Very special is the circus wagon with also space for four people, including its own toilet and kitchen and a TV. For chilly days there is of course electric heating.

In the area

The Weserbergland is characterized by ancient towns, which often still have many half-timbered houses, such as Hann and Munden. The 'Hann.' is an abbreviation of 'Hannoversch', because the city once belonged to the electorate or. kingdom of Hanover. The city is particularly rich in half-timbered houses and has a beautiful town hall in the style of the Weser Renaissance. Would you rather go to a larger city? In that case, the old university town of Gottingen is definitely recommended. The Brothers Grimm, known for their fairy tales, were once professors here. Other famous scholars of the university were Niels Bohr, Max Planck and Robert Oppenheimer. The Marktplatz with the old town hall and the Ganseliesel fountain are especially beautiful. Many half-timbered houses can also be seen in this city, such as the Stadtisches Museum.
