Beautiful arrivalFrom the Netherlands you drive on the A48 and B50 towards the Moselle to eventually turn off towards the town of Traben-Trarbach. The closer you get to the campsite, the more beautiful it gets. The last part on a dirt road with dense vegetation immediately puts you in the holiday mood. On arrival you will be welcomed in a modern building by the Van Dongen family.
Lots of camping choiceFrom the reception you drive along the Moselle to your camping spot. The camping spots are in three rows along the river. The most beautiful spots are of course located directly on the water. You can choose from places with demarcation or without demarcation. The amount of shade also differs per spot. Anyone without their own camping equipment can spend the night in a wooden wine barrel. The largest variant, the'Weinfass XL\\\\\\\\\\\\', has its own toilet, coffee machine and sink.
The campsite has a restaurant with a modest menu. There is also a small supermarket with basic necessities. The center of Traben-Trarbach is a five-minute drive away, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants.
Plenty of water fun!At a campsite right on the river, water fun is of course guaranteed. In and on the Moselle you can swim, sail, fish and even waterski. Or grab your camping chair and watch the passing boats together. A slipway is available for guests with their own vessel. Prefer the swimming pool? That's also possible! Young and old can cool off in the heated outdoor pool and paddling pool.
Wines, wines, winesIn 1900, Traben-Trarbach was one of the most important wine trading towns in Europe. The town still has the highest concentration of wine cellars in all of Germany. With numerous guided tours, wine tastings and walks through vineyards, you will reap the benefits! Anyone who camps in this region should therefore not miss a wine outing. The campsite itself keeps various wines in its own cellar and organizes a tasting every week.
So much to do nearbyThere are many nice trips to be made in the vicinity of the camping site. In historic cities such as Cochem, Bernkastel, Trier and Koblenz you can easily enjoy a whole day. You can experience a fairytale-like trip in Burg Eltz, one of the most special castles in Germany. This castle can be found in the town of Wierschem. It is more than an hour's drive from the campsite, but it is definitely worth it. But there is much more to experience! Look for gems at the Hunsruck or at the Geierlay suspension bridge, for example. Cycling along the Moselle or walking in the beautiful surroundings is of course also possible.
