Hollandischer Hof is an elongated site on a narrow peninsula in the Moselle, about a ten-minute walk from the atmospheric village of Senheim. Steep wine slopes rise on both sides of the Moselle. There is a small marina between the peninsula and the shore. This cozy campsite is popular among the Dutch. Visitors like to take part in the recreation program that is organized on the campsite throughout the season.
You reach the campsite after a nice drive through the valley of the Moselle. On the A1/A48, take the exit Kaiseresch and then head towards Cochem. Here you cross the bridge. Then follow the Senheim signs to the campsite. A warm welcome from the enthusiastic team of the Hermsen family awaits you at the modern reception building. Here you will also find the central facilities, such as the restaurant, the supermarket and the sanitary building.
View of the MoselleThe elongated campsite is divided into several narrower and wider sections with paved paths in between. There is a dike on the left side of the site and the Moselle flows on the right. It is a fairly large campsite, very popular among the Dutch. The site is flat with grassland and some tall trees providing some shade. The camping pitches are numbered and not marked out. Some pitches are a bit tight, but there are also nice larger pitches with a direct view of the Moselle.
Recreation programThe enthusiastic Dutch owners want to make their guests as comfortable as possible. That's why there is a weekly changing recreational program for adults throughout the season. You can participate in bus and boat trips, visit a winery or participate in a tasting. There are sing-along evenings and sometimes a barbecue is organised. In the summer months of July and August there is also a fun activity program for children. They can participate in theatre, football tournaments, read aloud, do crafts or an exciting ghost tour. There is no swimming pool, but you can swim here in the Moselle. You can also bring your own boat: there is a slipway where you can launch a boat.
Cozy terraceYou can do your shopping in the well-stocked shop. That is so easy, because you will not find a supermarket in the village of Senheim. You can also have a bite to eat in the restaurant, which has a cozy terrace. The sanitary building is at the beginning of the site and looks fine, but it is the only building on the site. At the very end of the campsite is a large movable toilet wagon. This means that, depending on your location, you may have to walk a little longer to shower or wash the dishes.
Spectacular suspension bridgeThere is much to discover in the Moselle valley: historic towns, castles, vineyards and cozy wine festivals in the period from mid-June to early October. Be sure to take a look at the Geierlay, the pedestrian suspension bridge that is the longest in Germany at 360 meters in length.
