Wilsumer Berge is a large-scale campsite less than twenty kilometers from the Dutch border. The campsite is located in a beautiful nature reserve, right next to a recreational lake and in the middle of woods and heaths. At this campsite you will find the best of both worlds: a place for a relaxing camping holiday and a full entertainment program with fun activities for children. For example, take a dip in the recreational lake or take a bike ride in the area.
The campsite is only about twenty kilometers from the Netherlands, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Near the campsite is the 403, a road from Coevorden to Nordhorn. If you take the exit on the 403 to Golenkamper Strasse, it is only a ten minute drive. After two kilometers turn left and you will drive towards the campsite. The access road to the barrier runs along the forest, here you see many bunnies. Behind the barrier is the reception, where you will be very kindly helped by a Dutch-speaking receptionist and the camping team. One of the employees will take you to your camping pitch.
Spatial pitchesThe site is bordered by large trees, but the site itself is very open. The terrain is hilly: the pitches are on different levels. This gives a nice effect. Some pitches are slightly higher, others are set around large, open grassy areas. Some of these fields have play facilities for younger children. The pitches are unmarked and unfenced, creating spaciousness and allowing you to see far away.
In addition to the more than four hundred touring pitches, you can rent a wooden holiday home for up to sixteen guests. This palatial accommodation, appropriately named 'The Villa', includes a private bathroom, kitchen and terrace. Ideal for a holiday with the family or with the whole group of friends.
For the whole familyWilsumer Berge is a campsite for the whole family. There is plenty to do for children of all ages, so you will encounter many families with children. But also couples who want to cycle in the area are part of the camping audience. Due to its favorable location, the campsite is suitable for Dutch campers who do not want to travel too far, but who still want to spend their camping holiday abroad.
Swimming in the lakeThe campsite is adjacent to a recreational lake, where you can enjoy a swim when the weather is nice. The little ones can bathe safely in a shallow area. A large part of the lake is surrounded by beach, so you can also lie down in the sun. The restaurant is next to the lake. The original restaurant was lost during a fire, but you can still sit on the terrace. in the reception building you will find the shop and the sandwiches are baked.
Lots to experienceTheater performances, treasure hunts, sports competitions: from March and during every school holiday, the entertainment program on the campsites is varied. Most activities take place in the open air, but even if the weather does not cooperate, there is a solution. Then you just move to the 'Adventure hall' at the campsite. Even if you do not participate in the program, there is a lot to experience. Children can enjoy themselves on the high-altitude course or on one of the sports fields. And the ferry and rope bridge at the smaller lake are also popular.
Sanitary BuildingsFive sanitary buildings are spread over the entire site. The facilities in these buildings are clean and modern. A small minus: there is nowhere to dry your hands after a visit to the toilet.
bicycle busGrafschaft Bentheim is a real cycling area. The rural environment of the campsite is fairly flat, making it wonderful to pedal. Along the rivers and canals, through the woods, along the heaths: there are bicycle paths everywhere. These cycling routes are clearly marked out here. Have you gone a little too far in all your enthusiasm? Don't worry! In that case you can take the bicycle bus. This bus will take you and your bike back to the campsite.
