Havelland is a wooded area near the town of Rathenow. You camp here not far from Potsdam and Berlin (seventy kilometers). Buntspecht camping park is located in the middle of this beautiful, sparsely populated region. The site borders an elongated lake, just outside the town of Ferchesar in Westhavelland Nature Park. An excellent place for anyone who wants to enjoy peace and nature. In the area you can enjoy cycling and walking. Berlin is of course a top destination for a day trip. You can reach the city quickly and easily by train (45 minutes from Rathenow).
The campsite is easily accessible from the highway. From 2/E30 take exit 78 Brandenburg and then turn left on 102. You will pass Brandenburg and Rathenow. Then after about five kilometers turn right and drive via the Lotze towards Stetechow-Ferchesar. From there, the route to the campsite is well signposted.
Well maintainedAlready at the entrance you can see that the site is tightly organized and neatly maintained. Environmental awareness is of paramount importance here. The reception is housed in a neat, large building. You will be greeted by friendly receptionists. On the site itself, everything is well signposted, so that you can easily find your way to your camping spot.
Spacious pitchesThe camping pitches are spacious and are located on a large camping meadow with here and there large pines and occasionally deciduous trees. Along the edge is dense, woody vegetation. The pitches have a good grass surface. The sanitary facilities are in excellent order, very clean and fully equipped. If you want to rent an accommodation, you can stay in one of the nice, new houses.
Swimming and playing boatingYou will not find a swimming pool at Campingpark Buntspecht. If you want to swim, you can go to the elongated lake that is directly accessible from the campsite. The shore is covered with a thick reed collar, but there is a beach where you can go into the water. Boats can be rented not far from the campsite. So enjoy an afternoon on the water...
Cozy restaurant and well-stocked camping shopThe restaurant has a cozy appearance. You can also eat well there. There is a spacious terrace with a nice view of the greenery and the campsite. In the reception building you will find a neat camping shop with a limited range.
Tips for tripsThe campsite is mainly aimed at nature lovers, which is not surprising with such a beautiful environment. The campsite is located in Havelland Nature Park, a beautiful green area with a rich flora and fauna. Discover the area by bike or during a walk. Bicycles (also electric) can be rented at the campsite. There are also all kinds of nice cultural destinations in the area. Within cycling distance you will find the Otto Lilienthal Museum, dedicated to a pioneer of gliding. The German country house Schloss Klessen and a nice regional toy museum and Harsch are also great outings for the whole family.
