Verlaatsheul
The Verlaatsheul is a vaulted lock from 1769 in the main wall of the fortified town of Klundert. This lock also forms part of the Defense Line of Willemstad. The lock is located on the north side of the basin, where the Bottekreek intersects the wall. This lock has most likely had a predecessor. The lock gates, which were renewed during the restoration in 1978-1979, are based on an original example. The current vaulted lock has a keystone in an arch with the year of the restoration on it.
