Arsenaal
The Arsenal as we know it today was built in 1793 to replace the old, dilapidated Arsenal. The rectangular brick building with wooden cornice was used as a weapons and ammunition warehouse until the end of the Willemstad fortress in 1926. After this period, the Arsenal was only used as a storage for military goods. The striking building has been privately owned since 1960 and regularly hosts cultural and social activities, such as the annual Christmas market in December.
