Botenloods Fort Sabina

The boat shed at Fort Sabina was built in 1881 and used to house torpedoes and boats, which were used to release mines in the Volkerak in the last century. After the defense function had disappeared, scouting Willemstad came in until the early 1990s. After that, the 900 square meter warehouse fell into serious disrepair. A major fire in 1996 did not improve the situation. The shed is now on the rise and space is being created for, among other things, a permanent exhibition about the history of the area.
