Waalse Kerk (Jacob van Lennep wandeling)

Somewhat deeper in the Red Light District, Jacob got married in 1824 in the Waalse Kerk, on the Walenpleintje, a short side street off the Oudezijds Achterburgwal. His bride was Henrietta Roell, daughter of the well-known statesman Willem Frederik baron Roell, who was co-designer of the constitution in 1814 and from 1817 a member of the Senate and chairman there for many years.
