Keizersgracht 369 (Jacob van Lennep wandeling)
Jacob's birthplace was a little further on the other side: Keizersgracht 369. It was built in 1725 as a merchant's house by order of Jacob Cromhout, next to an orphanage of the Reformed Municipality. In 1938 it was demolished and the large building of the Algemeene Nederlandsch-Indische Electriciteits-Maatschappij was built. (Source: Marita Mathijsen, 'Deftige circles. Walk through the Amsterdam by Jacob van Lennep'. In: Ons Amsterdam 70 (2018) 7-8 (July-Aug), 40-45.)
