Herepoort

During a walk through Groningen, Van Lennep and Van Hogendorp walk through the Herepoort, after which they look out on the Helper Line, which was demolished at the end of the nineteenth century. The city gate itself was rebuilt on the initiative of architect Pierre Cuypers in 1885 in the garden of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Some initiatives to bring the gate back to Groningen have not yet been successful.
