This church was built between 1491 and 1656, in the Brabant Gothic style and dedicated to the apostle Saint James the Greater. The south and west portals show Renaissance influence and decoration. The Sint-Jacobskerk was designed by architects Herman de Waghemakere, his sons Domien de Waghemakere and Herman de Waghemakere the younger, and Rombout Keldermans, a member of the Mechelen architectural family Keldermans.
