Nieuwe Delftse Poort
Visit the website
There was already talk of a Delftse Poort around 1373. In 1545 the gate was replaced by a new one. From its construction in 1768, the Delftse Poort, designed by architect Pieter de Swart, was the most famous building in the city. In the late 1930s, the gate was moved as part of the refurbishment of the Hofplein. The Delftse Poort was destroyed during the bombing in 1940. Cor Kraat made a steel construction, which is open on all sides, and placed it in its original location.
