The Foundation keeps the memory of the 1953 disaster alive. 76 people died in Heijningen. This was over 10% of the population. Heijningen is thus one of the worst hit villages with Ouwerkerk, Oude Tonge and Stavenisse. You will also find the Flood Monument there. Worth a visit! Opening hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm to 4 pm and every 1st Saturday of the month from 2 pm to 5 pm.
