Permekemuseum – Huis ‘de vier winden’

Visit the website
The house 'the four winds' was once the residence of the artist Constant Permeke (1886-1952). The sculpture studio is separate from the house. Now the building houses the Permeke Museum. The house was built in 1929-30 according to a concept of the artist himself, which was converted into building plans by architect Pierre Vandervoort (Nieuwpoort). The house was perfectly oriented to the wind directions, which explains the name of the house.
