Dumontwijk De Panne

Visit the website
The Dumont district is a gem of architectural heritage that was created at the end of the 19th - early 20th century under the direction of architect Albert Dumont. His son Alexis Dumont drew the unique construction plan for this district with rural cottages, which was built with respect for the existing environment and dune relief. Spacious villas with a sea view were built on the high dune tops. Originally the villas were built in cottage style, later more modernist villas were built. Just as important as the villas themselves are the gardens, trees and plants. Since 1995, the Dumont district has been protected as a cityscape and forms a nice counterpart to the more commercial part of De Panne.
