Kasteel van Rumbeke

This masterpiece of the Flemish Renaissance dates from 1538 and is one of the oldest Renaissance castles in Belgium. It was hardly cultivated over the centuries, which makes it quite unique. The castle park was built in the 18th century after the example of the Prater in Vienna. Now it has become a provincial domain. With its 27 hectares, Provinciedomein Sterrebos is quite small, but along the star-shaped lanes you will find a wide variety of indigenous and exotic trees and shrubs.
