Due to its strategic location on the water, there was increasing interest in the harbor of Hellevoetsluis in the 16th century. As a historic fortress and navy town, Hellevoetsluis focuses on tourism from the Netherlands and abroad. Many tourists come with one of the many sailing ships that enter here. There are six harbors in Hellevoetsluis.
