Troposcatter

The beam transmitter or troposcatter on the Vinetaduin is a former American radio relay station with four large satellite dishes. The installation was built in the 1950s during the Cold War and took on its current appearance in 1967. Via the Troposcatter, messages from West Germany found their way to England and the US. American soldiers from Soesterberg Air Base provided the crew. After "the fall of the Wall", the station was handed over to the Ministry of Defense in 1992. The Ministry of Defense actually wanted to demolish it, but due to circumstances the now restored Troposcatter is still there.
