Maasvlakte

The municipality of Rotterdam has been a major client for the Waterloopkundig Laboratorium for many years. Many Rotterdam remains can be found in the forest, such as the Willemstunnel and the Maasvlakte. The cooling water for the power plant on the Maasvlakte is collected in a pond and discharged from there. The design of that pond and the stability of the bottom and outflow openings were investigated in the Waterloopbos.
