Tourist landmark
Kunstwerk Deltawerk//
The Delta Flume was built in the Waterloopbos in the late 1970s. More than 200 meters long concrete colossus. Meter-high waves were made for the storm surge barrier in Zeeland. From 27 September, the Delta Flume has been transformed by artists Ronald Rietveld and Erick de Lyon into a gigantic work of art located in a water surface. An artwork of unprecedented size that will leave no one unmoved. The concrete, once straight in a straight line, is now flat and crooked. Lichens, mosses and plants like ferns will find a place on it. In this way Deltawerk // becomes a green monument. As an ode to the hundreds of hydraulic studies that have been carried out in the Waterloopbos.
