Beklimming Elkenraderweg

This ascent starts in the middle of Wijlre at the exit to Elkenrade. The climb is cut into two parts by a descent, the first of which is a lot harder, both physically and mentally. The first part mainly climbs through a residential area. Percentages of 7% are regularly achieved here. At the railway crossing it flattens out for a few meters and then assumes high percentages again. Shortly before the descent, the climb scrapes the 10%. The climb has the same profile as the parallel Dikkebuiksweg, which also has a descent in the middle. At the bottom of the descent you can already see the second part against the mountain wall. At the bottom the road bends to the right to start this last part. It doesn't get steep anymore; about 5%, but the environment pays for everything! If you look closely, you will see the aforementioned Dikkebuiksweg creeping up on the right.
