Slot Haag

Castle Haag dates from the seventeenth century and is one of the most important water castles on the Lower Rhine. The castle is located on the outskirts of the city of Geldern, from which the duchy of Gelre owes its name. Due to heavy damage during the Second World War, only the surrounding walls are original. The manor and chapel had to be rebuilt. The Hague Castle has been in the hands of the Hoensbroech family for many centuries. Parts of the estate can be viewed.
