Ooievaarsstation De Lokkerij

Bird protection in the Netherlands set up a project in the late 1960s to reintroduce the stork. Since 1979, 12 outstations have been established in areas suitable for storks. De Lokkerij started in 1981 and the animals were given the opportunity to get used to a natural environment under supervision, so that they could show their natural behavior again. From the nineties of the last century, the number of breeding pairs in the Netherlands increased sharply.
