Grebbelinie

Here you can recognize points in the landscape marked out by water, which were part of the Grebbe line. The Grebbelinie was a front line of the Old Dutch Waterline and was built in the eighteenth century. These defenses had to protect the important cities in Holland against invaders by means of inundation (deliberate and controlled flooding).
