Heerlijkheid Appeltern

The glory of Appeltern is a country house with a park where you can walk. The park also contains a bust of Joan Derk van der Capellen tot den Pol (1741-1784), a politician who is considered the founder of the patriot movement at the end of the eighteenth century. This movement strived for a democratic Republic and wanted to keep the power of the stadholders under control.
