Monument Kamp Rees

Camp Rees was a workers' camp during the Second World War, just across the German border at Rees. In December 1944 some Dutch people managed to escape from the forced labor camp and fled across the border to Megchelen. The Meghel population hid these escaped prisoners from the Germans for the rest of the war.
