Huize Dorth
Until the fourteenth century, Huize Dorth belonged to the Overijssel side of the diocese of Utrecht, the Oversticht. Shortly afterwards it became involved in the Gelder Brothers Battle (1350-1361) because of the border location. The brothers Reinald and Eduard van Gelre both considered themselves heirs of the duchy, so their lords also became involved in the battle. The lord of Huize Dorth was on the hand of Reinald. However, Reinald lost the battle and was imprisoned by his brother for ten years, until after his death he became Duke of Guelders.
