Gemaal Meldijk

The Meldijk pumping station is located near the drawbridge, a former steam pumping station that was built in 1874 and renovated in 1995-1997. It regulates the water level of the Uitgeester and Heemskerkerbroek polder and pumps the excess water to the Uitgeestermeer, which is 1 meter higher.
