Kapel ten Eikenen

According to legend, the chapel was erected in honor of a miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary that has stood in an oak niche since time immemorial. During the 16th and 17th centuries it was a famous place of pilgrimage. During the restoration work in 1980 foundations dating from before 1300 were found. Part of the choir is also a remnant of this first chapel, probably in Romanesque style. Between 1483 and 1500 the chapel was enlarged and in 1510 again to its present size.
