Het Grote Huis
From 1900, the Grote Huis was the central location for Landsmeer's egg trade. This village has an egg history and it used to be strongly focused on the egg and chicken trade. Originally there were egg wells under the house, in which one million eggs could be stored. Just behind the house you found the egg auction. In its prime, Landsmeer supplied millions of duck eggs to the biscuit and rusk factories in the Zaan region.
