Hofje van Bayot

The Walloon soldier scout Nestor Bayot was killed here in the First World War. He served in the prestigious 1st R? Giment des Guides. In the summer of 1914, the guides had to protect the flanks of the retreating troops. After a brief skirmish with a German patrol, the unfortunate Nestor was the only one to die.
