Nature reserve-OLD
Engbertsdijksvenen
This peat area is the largest preserved piece of continuous high moor in the Netherlands. The area is beautiful to see in all seasons. In the spring the heather frogs wake up and in the late spring the birches start to get their fresh green color. Songbirds such as tree pipits and bluethroats are then heard. In the summer you see tree falcons hunting and in the fall cranes fly overhead. Winter means peace and space. In short, there is always something beautiful to experience here.
