Villa Beeckzangh
Villa Beeckzangh was founded in the second half of the 17th century as a blue clay factory. The manufactured bluing was supplied to the many bleachers that Kennemerland had this century. At the end of 1800 the Blauwselhuis was given the name Beeckzangh, after the eponymous poem by Joost van den Vondel that he wrote during one of his stays at the Scheybeeck homestead, east of Beeckzangh. The mansion has been on the municipal monument list since 1989 and now serves as a residence.
