Oudesluis

Until 1888, an old sea lock was located in this narrow street. This lock formed the separation between sea and storage water. Ships therefore enter and leave the Zuiderzee. The remains of this lock can still be seen in the sheet pile wall in front of the bridge on the side of Het Dok. You will also find here the remains of an old bridge that was the predecessor of the current bridge.
