Het Dok / Flevobrug

The Dock is located between two bridges. Since 1952, this through water has only been used for pleasure craft. Around the water you will find shops, restaurants and terraces. You will also find the Flevobrug between the Dok and the Zijlroede water. If you stand on the bridge and look at the Zijlroede, you will see a monumental building that used to be part of the shipyard. The inscription on the side wall of this building commemorates 1799, when Lemmer was attacked by British troops from the sea.
