Fort van Ertbrand

This fort in Kapellen was built in 1908 and is located in the Oude Galgenstraat. It is shaped like a trapezoid and consists of three parts: main front, throat front and side fronts. The whole is surrounded by a wide canal of 40? 50 meters. After the First World War the fort was refurbished and equipped with anti-gas equipment. After the Second World War, the fort was used by the Belgian demining service for the destruction of old explosives and ammunition. The result is that the fort was largely destroyed. It is currently privately owned.
