Napoleonsmolen

The Napoleonsmolen, a stone tower mill 19 meters high and with a diameter of 13.40 meters at the base and a wall thickness of 1.10 meters, is a tough guy. This flour and oil mill is therefore one of the most striking mills within GrensPark Kempen ~ Broek. Even now the year of construction in the mill hull is clearly visible: 1804 and AN XII, which refers to the French era. In 1863 a steam engine was already installed in the mill and in 1867 the mill was raised a few meters to create space for the construction of an oil mill. In 1968 the mill was rented to a landlord from Budel who had a café in the mill. settled. In 1990 the owners transferred the mill to the municipality of Hamont and in 1996/1997 restoration followed. Since then, the Napoleon Mill has been running regularly and oil has been beaten. Volunteer millers are also trained.
