Luisterplek 222 - Hulp aan ontsnapte krijgsgevangenen

A group in Herkenbosch set up a line -from the arrival of the first fugitive prisoners of war from Germany in 1941- to divert this continuous stream of refugees to a safe area. At the risk of their own lives, they help the refugees to find clothing, food and places to sleep. Ultimately, more than 250 prisoners of war and other refugees managed to escape through this network during the war.
