Het Reizend Gezag
The bronze statue The Traveling Authority resembles a bishop on horseback, but is a 'authority figure'. Like everyone else, he had to go through this street for centuries to get from one side of the Peel to the other. The Dorpsstraat in Meijel, along which this artwork can be seen, was part of the road from Den Bosch to Cologne: the Peelrandbreuk. To emphasize the 'authority', the artist Dolf Wang made the traveler proportionally larger than the horse.
