Zammelsbroek

This nature reserve is located in the south of Geel, where the Grote Laak flows into the Grote Nete. Until 1940, peat and then swamp iron ore were mined. Both activities created large pools in the landscape. Many different animal and plant species find a home. Copyright photo: Mie De Backer
