Begijnhof en Stedelijk Museum

The history of this Begijnhof probably dates back to the fourteenth century. Three centuries later, 160 pious women lived there. In 1972 the last beguine left the court. The beguinage is now on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the Stedelijk Museum you can learn more about prehistory and the Beguine movement. Copyright photo: Mie De Backer
