Zeeliedenmonument

The Seamen's Monument (from 1953 by Willy Kreitz) can be found on Zeeheldenplein. Every year a tribute is paid to the numerous Ostend fishermen who have stayed at sea over the centuries. The first Ostend lighthouse (1771) stood here.
