Kasteel Nieuwburgh

Baron L? On Peers de Nieuwburg, resident of neighboring Nieuwburg, decided in 1888 to start a dairy in Nieuwburg. When the company started in 1892, there were 26 tenant farmers who supplied milk. The baron had this farm built to house cows. The dairy (and after WWII also a cheese factory) stopped its activities in the mid-1960s. Since 2000, Loca Labora has been organizing social employment training in the hospitality and tourism sector in the renovated farm. Strangely enough, the farm never got a name. Like all other properties of the Peers de Nieuwburg family, it is painted in red. This is copied by the Lord of the Castle from Denmark, where all hooves have the same color. The new project of Loca Labora was therefore named 't Roodhof.
