Scheldemolen

This windmill is located on the Scheldedijk in the village of Doel, which is threatened by port expansion. With the nuclear power plant in the background, the mill symbolizes the contrast between the polder village of Doel and the advancing port of Antwerp. The Scheldemolen was built around 1600 and is one of the oldest stone mills in Flanders. The building now houses a catering business.
