Windmill

Grote Napoleon

Call us
This is the last remaining of the 33 mills that Hamme ever had. It was originally an oil mill, which was later converted into a grain mill. "The Great Napoleon" owes its name to the French emperor, who passed here on his passage from Dendermonde to Sint-Niklaas. The French emperor paused when he saw masons building the mill. The mill was named after him as a thank you for his interest. On the pleasant site you will find a traditional bakery, ice cream parlor, a bakery museum and muster factory Vernimmen - De Lelie. The windmill is also open for visitors every weekend. Weather permitting, you can still see the mill grinding.
